Five months have passed since we started working actively on our secret weapon project. Being the two of us employed and working on it in our spare time we didn't expect to ship a full-fledged product anytime soon, yet some cool things happened in this time span and we feel that it's time to share.

First, the project has reached a working prototype stage. It is far from being stable or user-friendly and we're still working on some of the key features, however the thing works pretty smoothly and we're pretty happy with the result.

Second, we've applied for the summer 2012 round of Y Combinator. If you know the program, you can easily guess that this was a big leap. It forced us to question every aspect of the project and to deep-think about its motivation, weaknesses and strengths. In the end we didn't get called for an interview but we know we're building something cool and we're more motivated than ever.

The path is steep, but we're cool with this.

Back in the time when we were two poverty-struck CS students at University of Udine tunkie has served us well. Since then, the company has been almost idle, while we were busy trying to pursue our personal projects.

In the meanwhile, Tommaso has become a Computer Engineering Ph.D. student in the field of combinatorial optimization and Paolo started working as a Software Engineer on scalable Internet architectures.

Our friendship, just as our passion for technology, never changed.

Now tunkie is back! and we are developing the technology that everyone (or so) else will be using in ten years (or so). It is an ambitious project and, trust us, you'll want to keep in touch.
